n association with British Council and Muhammadiyah schools, ASA has formed a strategic partnership with English Premier League (EPL) club, Portsmouth F.C., for Indonesia whereby ASA delivers their highly successful POMPEY DOUBLE CLUB program to schools nationwide:
POMPEY DOUBLE CLUB INDONESIA with a tagline ‘KICK & LEARN’ is a program for UK and Indonesian students to develop their English & soft skills (leadership, team work & fair play) through sports.

Key program messages:
• POMPEY DOUBLE CLUB INDONESIA will help participating students to improve
their English language skills
• POMPEY DOUBLE CLUB INDONESIA will help participating students to improve
their leadership skills, fair play and other positive attitudes
• POMPEY DOUBLE CLUB INDONESIA provides opportunities for education
internationalization through links between Portsmouth and Indonesian schools
• POMPEY DOUBLE CLUB INDONESIA provides opportunities for participating
students to learn other culture, religions, country, etc
• Football brings people together
ASA Kicked off the annual program in November 2007 with 9 Muhammadiyah pilot schools based in Jakarta and Central Java. A fun sports tournament, suppported by Pak Din Syamsudin, was held in Jakarta and Yogyakarta in March 2008. In May 2008, 20 players travelled to the UK to engage in an 8 day inter-cultural activity program involving student exchanges, coaching clinics, english language workshops, tours (including Fratton Park and Wembley) together with an Portsmouth F.C. vs. Cardiff City FA Cup Final visit!
